 2003 OPJAHL ALL-STAR GAME
SOUTH-EAST WINS THIRD STRAIGHT

The South-East  team was victorious for the third straight year aPat Porretta and Albert Ferrante pose prior to the 2003 All-Star Game in their South-East visiting team uniforms.fter scoring a late goal to win 5-4 Wednesday night in Georgetown. Waxer All-Stars Pat Porretta and Albert Ferrante represented the team well and all four Waxer All-Stars (Ferrante, Porretta, Coach Russ Herrington, and Therapist Phil Lamont) would like to thank the Georgetown Hockey Heritage Council  (GHHC) for their hospitality.

Ferrante, paired with Oshawa Legionaire Cody Beaton, played a solid game winning all his one-on-one battles and was on the ice for the second South-East goal and none against.  On the ice in the dying seconds of the game, Ferrante blocked two shots in the final 10 seconds when the North-West had their goaltender out for the extra attacker.  Porretta, on a line with Vaughan Viper's Anthony Minicucci and St Michael Buzzer's Brian Inhacak, created a number of opportunities for his linemates and appeared to have scored a goal himself in the second period but it was waved off by the referee.  Porretta's line accounted for one goal on the night, the most important one as it was the game winner scored with just 46 seconds left on the clock.
