2003 OPJAHL ALL-STAR GAME
FERRANTE, PORRETTA AND LAMONT SELECTED TO ALL-STAR GAME
The Waxers are excited to announce that joining Head Coach Russ Herrington at the 2003 All-Star Game will be defenseman Albert Ferrante, winger Pat Porretta and therapist Phil Lamont.  This will be the first All-Star Game appearnces by all three Waxers.

Ferrante, in his fourth year with the Waxers and his second as Alternate Captain, is one of the smoothest skating defensemen in the South Division.  A stay-at-home type, Ferrante is known as a hard worker with a terrific knack for blocking shots.  Ferrante has collected 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points and 100 penalty minutes in 32 games thus far this season.

Porretta, in his second year with the Waxers, is the teams leading goal scorer to this point in the season and is battling for the Division lead in that category.  Improving on last year's total of 24 goals, Porretta has now bagged 36 goals  in 38 games.  Add on 20 assists and Porretta's total of 56 points leads the Waxers in scoring.

Lamont is in his first year with the Waxers after spending time in the West Division with Milton.  Lamont has shown a tremendous ability to diagnose, treat and care for any injuries to the Markham players and is widely respected for his experience, knowledge and bed-side manner.
