Saturday night's game was a strange affair from the beginning. A miniscule hole in the ice caused the start of the game to be delayed for 1 hour as the teams were forced to wait for the patch to freeze. This did not help the goalies as the first period saw 5 goals scored, 4 of which were scored in the first 10 minutes.

The Waxers got on the board first when Robbie Burrows sent James Regan in on a breakaway and he roofed a shot just 2:12 in to the contest. Vaughan tied it up a shift later at 1-1 and then Jesse Boucher scored the first of two powerplay goals on the night stuffing home a centering pass from Bobby Fitkin who was relaying an earlier Paul Robinson feed. The Vipers again tied it on the next shift and then took the lead with a little over 1 minute remaining on a powerplay of their own.

The Waxers tied the game 3-3 just over 5 minutes in to the period on Boucher's rebound goal (assists again to Fitkin and Robinson) and that was the closest Markham would get as the Vipers scored once more in the second to take the lead for good, 4-3.

The Vipers padded the lead 5-3 with 7 minutes remaining and then iced it with an empty net goal with 12 seconds on the clock.

The Waxers now prepare for very busy December that sees them scheduled to play ten game, seven of them on the road. Things get started Friday night when the Waxers travel to North York to take on the Rangers.
