The Waxers dominated the visiting North York Rangers from start to finish but in the end were able to only show a tie for their tremendous effort.

North York opened the scoring in the first period and then Tom Kotspoulos scored twice in less than a minute to put the Waxers in front 2-1. The first of Kotsopoulos' markers was a powerplay effort from Lawne Snyder and Rob Mazzuca. The second was an even strength goal from Alex Stoyan and Mazzuca.

The Rangers would tie it up in the second period on a 2-0 breakaway.

The Waxers outshot the Rangers 60-25 and dominated entirely the first and overtime periods. The first period saw the Waxers pour 26 shots at the Ranger netminder who stood on his head to allow North York to steal a point.

The Waxers wouldn't let up however frustrating it might have been to face a hot netminder and when he was needed Jeremy Wenzel made several key stops to make sure the wind was let out of the sails, particularly in the third period.

Try as they might in the extra session and outshooting their opponents 7-1 in that five minute period the Waxers were unable to put away the winner and had to resign themselves to being satisfied with a tremendous all-around effort and the tie.
