WAXERS BENEFIT FROM GOOD
START AND FINISH But in between, the Waxers head coach was not exactly happy with the way his team performed. Fortunately for the Waxers, the good outweighed the bad as they reeled off their fourth straight win, a 5-2 decision. "We got off to a good start originally. But I thought the guys played a little selfish on Friday and I told them that after the game." "When we play selfish we play down to the other team's level. In the third period we played our team's style of game and it showed when we outshot them 17 to 4." "We started out well, went to sleep for a couple of periods and woke up in the third." The Waxers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead when Rob Mazzuca opened the scoring just six seconds into the game and Jason Goldenberg lit the lamp just 20 seconds later.
The last-place Huskies closed the gap to 2-1 before the period concluded and tied the game midway through the second frame. But with just under two minutes left in the period, the Waxers regained the lead on a power-play goal by Bryan Lachapelle. Ian Malcolm and Mazzuca scored unanswered goals in the final period to close the scoring. The victory lifted the Waxers record in the Central Division to 7-3-1.
