This game marked the first time the Waxers had scored the first goal in a game this season and the good start led to Chris DelRosario earning his first Jr. A victory. DelRosario stopped 34 shots along the way.

Jason Young with his first Jr. A goal, opened the scoring on the powerplay just over nine minutes into the game when he banged home a rebound after Jimmy Ball and Ben Buxton had their shots stopped. The Rangers tied the game just 30 seconds later but that would conclude their scoring for the night as DelRosario shut the door the rest of the way.

The Waxers scored three times in the second period to take the lead for good. Paul Robinson, with his first of the evening, deflected home a Mike Carlesimo point shot on the powerplay to make it 2-1. Greg Chambers scored unassisted, putting the Waxers up 3-1 and starting what would become his first Junior A hat trick (and the first by a Waxer this season). With just nine second remaining on the clock (to conclude the 2nd) Buxton won the draw to the right of the North York net and Young made a pretty goal mouth pass to Chris Petracco who made no mistake.

The third period started with a bang as Lawne Snyder and Robinson took advantage of the removal of the red line to spring Robinson on a breakaway to put Markham up 5-1. Chambers then finished off his hat trick by scoring a pair of goals within a span of 20 seconds. Donald Johnson cycled the puck to Robinson behind the Ranger goal who alertly spotted the streaking Chambers racing in from the high slot for the sixth Waxer goal of the night. Following the ensuing faceoff at centre ice Johnson fed Carlesimo who then relayed to Chambers who was busting into the offensive zone and after splitting the Rangers defence he rifled the puck home to complete the scoring and his hat trick.
