The Markham Waxers made it 2 in a row with their second win on consecutive days over the Aurora Tigers. The Waxers opened the scoring in the first when Locky Gelinas sent Joel Kitchen in all alone and Kitchen made no mistake less than 3 minutes into the game. Aurora tied the game 3 minutes later and then the Waxers scored twice in a 50-second span in the 8th minute. Kevin Tompkins from Ian Malcolm made it 2-1 and then Bryan Lachapelle scored his first of the game on the powerplay to make it 3-1. Aurora would make it 3-2 before the the first ended but that would be as close as they got.

The second period saw goals scored by Lawne Snyder, Gelinas, Jim Stamatopoulos and Lachapelle. The third period scoring was all Waxers with Lachapelle completing his hat trick and Daniel Sisca and Chris Petracco also scoring. Matt Selby and Gelinas had two assists on the night.

The game was the last exhibition match between the two teams who square off four times in the regular season: at Markham Sept. 27 and Nov. 8 and in Aurora Oct. 25 and Dec. 4.
