WORTH NOTING...

The Waxers showed tremendous character in bouncing back from a potentially disasterous opening period that saw them in the box far too much. A solid effort and with a bounce here or there the tables would be turned.

Once again the entire blueline played exceptionally well.

Lawson gave the Waxers solid netminding, something observers are getting used to expecting.

All the forwards played well as circumstances forced Coach Herrington to shuffle lines around at times.

The Waxers have nothing to hang their heads over, they played well and with great effort.

You ain't seen nothing yet" - this team is going places - big time!

The Markham Waxers lost in double overtime to the Aurora Tigers in Aurora Sunday night.

The Waxers fell behind late in the opening period 2-0 in a frame that saw the Tigers playing with the man advantage for much of the period.

After weathering the flurry of penalties the Waxers righted themselves and tied up the score with a pair of goals of their own in the second period. David Colucci scored on on a powerplay from Chris Petracco to halve the deficit at 2-1 at the four minute mark. Five minutes later Petracco would score the tying goal from Daniel Sisca and Colucci.

It might have been difficult to predict back then but the teams would play another fifty-one minutes and fifteen seconds before the outcome would get decided.

After a scoreless third period that forced overtime, then a scoreless opening overtime (10-minutes for the first overtime period) it wouldn't be until the midway point of the second overtime that the outcome would get decided.

Tom Lawson turned aside 54 of 57 shots he faced as he made several key saves to give his teammates a chance to win but it wasn't to be this night.

Game four goes Monday night at Markham Centennial at 8:15pm and sees the Waxers with their backs up against the wall as they face a do-or-die situation from here on out in this opening short series. EDITOR
