The Waxers got on the board quickly on Daniel Sisca's goal from Rob Mazzuca and David Colucci to take a 1-0 lead. Colucci then made it 2-0 as he converted a solo effort with just over five minutes remaining in the opening period. Colucci's marker was a shorthanded effort. The Rattlers would score before the period would conclude to close the gap to 2-1.

Locky Gelinas scored his sixth goal of the year just over six minutes into the second with Jim Stamatopoulos and Ian Malcolm drawing assists. That goal would turn out to be the margin of victory. The Rattlers scored at the midway mark of the period to put the outcome into doubt and the period ended with the Waxers in front 3-2.

Strong goaltending by B.J. Forsyth helped the Waxers earn the victory as he slammed the door shut making several spectacular saves as he demonstrated his tremendous ability to move quickly on his feet. It's the type of goaltending that winning teams need to have and anyone who has taken the time to visit with B.J. would understand quickly that he's the consummate team player who realizes that the game has many ups and downs as the season goes on. The modest, well-spoken netminder refused to even mention his own performance in a postgame interview and instead pointed to the efforts of his teammates.

A late powerplay goal by Chris Petracco into an empty Thornhill cage concluded the outcome and sealed the victory for good.

The Waxers play next Saturday night at Durham where they face the rejuvenated Durham Huskies who after going the first 20-something games without a victory put together recent back-to-back wins and look to be perhaps a surprisingly strong opponent for the unaware. EDITOR
