As happens when teams are in a mini-slump, the bounces did not go the Waxers way on this night as they fell to Wexford by a 7-3 score.

The score was not indicative of the play during the game as the Waxers appeared to out-compete the Raiders in almost every aspect of the game except lucky bounces.

The Waxers got off to a good start scoring the first two goals of the game for a 2-0 lead after less than 3 minutes played. Kevin Tompkins (from Bryan Lachapelle and Daniel Sisca) converted from the slot on a powerplay only 23 seconds in to the game. Locky Gelinas then one-timed a centering pass from Matt Selby a little over 2 minutes later to make it 2-0 Markham.

Wexford tied them game before the end of the first and scored twice more in the second to go up 4-2. The lead was stretched to 5-2 early in the third before Rob Mazzuca from Jim Stamatopoulos and Sisca made it 5-3 with 16 minutes left in the game. The Waxers continued to buzz around the Wexford net however, the puck would not go in. Wexford scored twice more on ricochet plays to make the final score 7-3.

B.J. Forsyth made a strong start in net for the Waxers in his first game of this season, making 46 saves along the way. RH
