The Waxers completed a home-and-home sweep of the Shelburne Wolves with a 5-1 victory in Shelburne. The Waxers were led by a strong 26-save performance by Mike Lee who collected his 5th win of the year.

After a scoreless first period, the Waxers exploded for 3 unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes of the middle period. Kevin Tompkins opened the scoring from Daniel Sisca just 22 seconds into the period. Ian Malcolm followed with two consecutive goals, the first assisted by Mike Clarke and Brett Barrer, the second from Barrer and Jimmy Ball. Shelburne scored their lone goal midway through the period.

Markham put the game away with two goals 22 seconds apart in the third period. Jim Stamatopoulos from Jim Ulcar and Clarke during a Waxer powerplay was followed by Joel Kitchen's first Junior goal with the helper going to Kevin Tyrrell.

Clarke's assist gives him 6 points in the last two games as he continues his excellent play, but the key to the Waxer game this evening would be the unselfish and tenacious forechecking, including numerous solid, clean bone-jarring body checks, all said, it was a tremendous all around team effort.

The victory pushes the Waxers record to 10-4-1.

The Waxers next game is Sunday night as they Aurora to take on the Tigers as they complete a busy weekend schedule with three games in as many nights.
